   iPad Basics Course for Seniors

Talk to new Apple iPad owners and their excitement is almost contagious. This innovative tablet computer with its diverse capabilities continues to stir a desire among many consumers to own one. If you buy one, however, a key question remains: How do you get beyond the hype and start enjoying all its features?

The Computer Learning Center at Ewing is offering a two- session course on iPad Basics for those 50 and older. The course, which costs $10, is designed to launch first-time owners into a comfort zone with their iPads. You donʼt need any computer background in order to take this class.   All you will need is your iPad, already registered and working. This is the only prerequisite for enrolling in the class.    If this presents a problem to anyone who wants to take this course, he or she is advised to e-mail their concerns to me.

The course will cover the various parts of the iPad, what a user sees on the screen, how to use the basic hand gestures, and some of the applications. “Weʼll start with a look at using the online manual, which is already accessible on the iPad.  Then weʼll get students started on using the iPadʼs other features, such as how to find and download applications, use maps and get directions, check and send e-mail, and view and share photos."

New dates for the CLCʼs  “iPad Basics” classes are set as enough students apply for the course. If you are interested, please contact the CLC Registrar at 609-882-5086 and place your name on the waiting list.
